Hey Vinties!

We know Halloween is only 1 day away and we're here to help some of you out! It's a struggle to come up with the perf costume - especially if you have no time!  So here are some quick costumes that won't spill your last minute secret! ;)

50 Shades of Grey!

This one is so easy, if you have anything grey in your closet you can pull it off in minutes!

All you need to do is...

  • grab an all grey outfit (whatever you have will work!)
  • get duct tape
  • and paint sample cards

Now use the duct tape (wink wink, it's grey!) to tape those grey paint sample cards all around you!  ((source))

Make your own mask!

This etsy user sells some pretty legit how-to's on making your own mask!

Not only is it easy to do in a flash, but it only requires...

and crafting

But after that it's just sifting through your closet to coordinate with your mask!

Stick Figure!

Just like 50 shades of grey, you don't need much - just...

  • a white outfit
  • a paper plate
  • tape

Lay whatever white clothing you have and use your tape to make the stick figure lines!

Next draw the face on your paper plate and you have a mask! ((source))

Sports Babes!

Got some baseball, basketball or football jerseys laying around? They don’t even have to be from professional teams! I’m talking high school, little league, etc!

Hunt some down in your brother’s room but remember to wear a gas mask before entering the man cave. (I have a brother, I know the struggle)

After you’ve found some jerseys slab them on and BAM! Instant costume!

You can prep up the costume with face paint, glitter, hair color, etc!

Have fun with it! ((Source))

Calling all superheros!

We all have our one favorite superhero!

Deep in the depths of your room is a superhero shirt just waiting to come out and turn you into a superwoman!

Find that bad boy and then get wacky.

  • Face paint
  • masks
  • leggings, etc!

Go crazy and get your nerd on! ((Source))

And there it is Vinties! Last minute madness is solved!

Have last minute costume ideas yourself? Share them here! We want to hear!

Have a great and safe H a l l o w e e n !!!!

With Halloween around the corner and no time to hit the mall, it’s time for a little DIY magic! Halloween style ;) Halloween is the one time of the year where you can be a completely different person and no one can judge you. However, my favorite part has to be the CANDY (guilty as charged) and decorating the house!

These DIY bad boys are sure to spice up your Halloween décor without breaking the bank ;)

So vinties what’s your favorite part of Halloween?!
I want to see your Halloween decorations & costumes galore!

Happy Haunting!
Xoxo, Valerie

Halloween is definitely my favorite time of the year. I try to hit as many scary things as possible, but I know not everyone likes to get scared on purpose. That doesn't mean you have to miss out on the fun! I'm going to share with you my top 3 favorites! (they're all childhood classics - but that's where halloween takes us! It's the holiday to be a kid)

If you were living and breathing disney channel as a kid like I was #90sKid (amiright) then you will for sure know the CLASSIC - Halloweentown . I know, I KNOW. For those of you not in the know, grrl I'm sorry, but also we don't have to say anything.

Choice Quote;

Luke: Maybe we could go out for an ice cream. I know my way around town. I'm kinda like the big cheese here.

Marnie Cromwell: I was hungry, but then I smelled something stinky... it must have been the big Cheese!

I'll be real with you - I was giggling just remembering this scene. The anomosity was so intense but more importantly it came from nowhere. Tensions ran high and wit was equally matched.

Availability: Target always has the double feature DVD of Halloweentown and Halloweentown 2 for $5 this time of year, so try and snag one!

It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Then there's easily one of my favorite animations and is most def the oldest on this list! May I introduce you to It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown .  The jokes have aged well since its premiere in 1966. Now, technically this is just a halloween special - but we can fudge this just a bit; it's worth it.

Iconic Quote;

Polka Dot Ghost: I got a rock

Availability: I think Redbox carries the DVD, Amazon Instant Video.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

It was hard to narrow this down to 3 movies, it was either 3 or a neverending list. For the third, I went with what I believe to be an underrated film that came out 4 years ago -  Tucker and Dale vs. Evil . It's a great stepping stone to actual horror but is still lighthearted enough (and over the top enough) that I think anyone can handle it.

Honestly, no need for choice quotes - the trailer gives some mighty fine ones!

Availibility: It's on Netflix (angels singing), Hulu (It might be exclusive to plus), and Amazon prime instant.

Of course, these arent all that's out there.

Some honorable mentions:

  • Hocus pocus
  • Anything Tim Burton
  • The Witches
  • Casper (special shout out to the Hilary Duff version! holla!).

Let me know how you like any of the movies I mentioned and tell me in the comments some of your favorites! I'm always on the lookout for more Halloween movies!

Time for part 2 of this year’s fall and winter colors. If you missed part 1, check it out!

Let’s talk about the new “BLACK” and NO it is not ORANGE ;). However, I must say that if you have not buried yourself in this Netflix original series … do so!

Oxblood by definition: Oxblood is a color considered to be a dark shade of red. It resembles burgundy, but has more purple and dark brown hues.  The first use of the term oxblood as a color name in the English language dates back to 1695-1705.

Can you guess what my next color subject will be? It is rumored to be the "season's hottest color" !!!

What is your favorite color of the season?

What are you wearing the most of?

Me? Deep, dark purple :)
