This week we are featuring new Vintie and French blogger and body positivity advocate, Manon Edwards, of Chic With Curves fame. Manon is originally from Marseille, a small city in the South of France - two years ago, she decided to embark on a fabulous American adventure and has been living in LA ever since.

Tell us about your journey to becoming a blogger/influencer.

At the beginning it was just a hobby, since I was passionate by writing and blogging. I always had been concerned about the struggles of loving fashion and being plus sized, since I’m a size 16, so I decided to write especially about body acceptance. Even if my focus isn’t specifically fashion, I want to show that loving yourself AND loving fashion is totally possible, no matter your size! Once I started writing about this, a lot of brands contacted me, loving my energy and my fight against the negative image of plus size and fashion, so I began my social media accounts and become a freelance blogger influencer.

You have a strong message of body positivity - how did you come to be so confident and comfortable in your skin?

It’s been a long journey. It started after I broke up with my first love, because he wanted me to fit in with HIS standards of beauty, not mine. I told him enough, that I’ve cried too many times, that I’ve tried to change myself for somebody else too many times, and that I want to be happy with who I really am! It was still not easy to really come to loving myself after this, but I decided to keep a positive outlook on life and my body.

Blogger roll call, from left to right: curvygirlchic, chicwithcurves, gabifresh & curveella

How would you describe your style?

I do not have a specific style - that’s another part of my identity. I really encourage women to wear absolutely whatever they want, no matter their size. If you’re happy and feeling beautiful, that’s the best way to find your “fashion style.” So my own style actually  depends on my current mood! Sometimes I’m more preppy chic, sometimes more rock and casual, but I admit I’m in love with mixing different styles in one look - for example, a sexy chic dress and camo shirt with casual sneakers!

What is the biggest difference between French fashion and LA fashion?

The biggest difference is the choice! In LA (and the US, as a whole) even if you are plus size, if you want to go on the mall, you can also find some trendy stores with fashionable plus size clothes, like Lovesick, Torrid, Forever21 plus etc. In France, unfortunately, it’s still tough to find places that carry plus sizes in store. Some stores, like H&M, offer a maternity section but who said that being plus size means you want to wear maternity clothing? As well, if a store specializes in plus size in France, it usually is not trendy clothing aimed at older women. While styles and trends are international, for the most part, the selection and availability of plus size options is the key difference between the US and France.

Name three of your top brands for finding amazing clothes

What are you most looking forward to for fall fashion?

I’m loving jeans that are super destroyed on the knees or with destroyed fringes at the bottom, which I saw on the runways last year! I also am looking forward to over-the-knee boots and the classic lace up dress or top.

You recently joined Vinted and even came to our Vinted Goes Vintage event! What do you love about being a member of Vinted?

I’m in love with the fact that it’s really fast and easy to post your clothes for sale - every option is already set up, you just have to chose yours, upload a photo and that’s it! But what I prefer the most is that you can really find some great deals, and it’s specifically for clothes, shoes, accessories and fashion!

Your words of wisdom for the Vinted community?

Girls do not forget, be happy with YOURSELF for YOURSELF, be #HAPPYwithcurves no matter your size!

Fall is finally upon us. With only a handful of days since it has officially started, many of us have been anticipating the season since the beginning of August!

Here is my less-than-expert, completely biased, fall trend list. From head to toe, let's do the best season ever, together!

1. Hair Colors

Cherry red is back in action this fall. Take on the weather with this (in my less than humble opinion) amazing hair color.

Let's face it though, mahogany is going to be in every year. Personally, when I want a color that is subtle, but also daring, this is one that I turn to at my salon.

And, as someone who rocked this color all last winter, I am glad to say it: blue is back. Add a daredevil level to your style with some blue tinting. I highly suggest Vidal Sasson Blue Black for the perfect shade.

2. Makeup

We all know this would not truly be an article from me if I didn't shamelessly promote Colourpop. Their newest matte lip Mama launched September 15th for only $6. Terracotta is going to be in this year, so I would snatch this limited edition color while you still can!

Bold liner isn't going anywhere! Thank goodness because black wings are my jam. Hit up your local Sephora for some amazing liner. On a high end budget, I suggest Marc Jacobs or Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner. However, there are many drug store brands that will work just as well!

Step your blush game up by picking up Urban Decay's Rapture . Purple and dusty mauve are a great staple for everything fall (next to pumpkin everything that is.)

3. Clothes

I love the color wine just as much as a good glass of it. I guess that is why I am very happy that wine is back in fashion again this fall. From maxi skirts, to fun shift dresses, add your favorite ankle boot and hit up your runway (or sidewalk.)

Another fall staple, according to NYFW, will be bohemian maxi dresses. This means the boho style we have all loved is here to stay. It is a great way to bring your summer trends into the best season.

When it comes to your shoe choice this fall, you won't be able to go wrong with a pointy pump. Suede and wooden here are also here to take your fashion over. Step it up in these amazing trends.

4. Nails

Of course, no outfit is complete without a nail coor. Mauve is shining bright this season, so why not give Essie's Island Hopping a try.

Or, if you like yourself a darker color La Notte by Nars may be the perfect navy for you.

But if you prefer a simple nude, then go with April by Zoya.

So now that we brushed up on what is supposedly in this fall, why don't we all go get ourselve's a pumpkin spice latte and hit up our local mall!

The leaves are changing and the sun is setting early. The temperatures are slowly dropping and you need to redo that closet of yours so you are ready for fall!

STEP ONE: Dig out those jeans from last year and try them all on. ONLY choose the ones that fit you! Try and limit yourself to 4-5 pairs and invest in 1-2 new pairs that fit amazing! DO NOT settle for $7 jeans on sale at Forever 21. You want high quality jeans that will last . This will save you more money in the long run and also make you feel much more confident rocking that pair of jeans that fit you like a glove. Try and stick to as following:

1. Dark wash skinnys

2. Light wash skinnys

3. Colored skinnys (maroon or olive green)

4. Distressed boyfriend fit

5. Black highwaisted skinnys

6. Flares

7. Mom jeans (like below!)

STEP TWO: Now dig out those sweaters! It is very easy to become a sweater hoarder! So with that being said, try and only pick 3 from last year. Make sure these have sentimental value to them. The rest of your collection? Check out the selection on Vinted or head on over to the thrift store! They always have the best sweaters! Stick to neutral tones that way you can mix and match your layers!

STEP THREE: Save that favorite pair of highwaisted shorts! You can still wear these in the fall! All you have to do is add a pair of stockings underneath and a pair of booties! So go ahead and invest in a good pair of stockings!

STEP FOUR: JACKETS. There are five basic jackets for the most popular looks right now.

1. The oversized denim jacket.  Again, Vinted and thrift stores are the places to look.

2. The green utility jacket . These jackets are adorable for that casual look and very versatile!
3. The long athleisure jacket . This one is perfect to wear over leggings, with sneakers and a T-shirt to make you look chic.
4. The leather jacket. For a more edgy look, you can never go wrong with a leather jacket.
5. The bomber jacket . Silky bomber jackets are hot right now and they are all over the place! You can either buy one new, or go old school at your local thrift shop and snag a printed one from the 80's!
STEP FIVE: BASICS. Tanks, tees, leggings, and sweatshirts. Every girl needs a good supply of basics. These are great for layering in the fall. So, pick 3 of each!

STEP SIX: It's all about the booties! Invest in 2 pairs of booties! One light shade and one dark shade. I like to own a light brown pair and a black pair. But you can choose any color that you want! I've found that owning a dark park and a light pair helps create more outfits and different looks.

STEP SEVEN: Boots! Why just stop at booties? Invest in a nice pair of boots, at least knee height! My favorite pair right now are laced up combat boots that are knee height or even higher!
STEP EIGHT: HAVE FUN! Recreate yourself this fall! For me, my theme this year is going to be minimalist. I am trying to just stick to black and white with small touches of gray, blush pinks, and brown.
Fall is a great time to completely clean out your closet. Try and minimize as much as possible and add all of your old items to Vinted to pay for all of the new things you want to invest in, like that high quality pair of jeans (see step one!) you've had your eyes on! Now, get off your phone and start minimizing and creating!

The 90's are back and they're here to stay! One of the biggest trends right now is wearing your lingerie outside of the bedroom - this means lace camisoles as tank tops and slips as dresses! You even see celebrities like Rihanna sporting this look.

Here are three major ways to acheive a lingerie as outwear look and bring the 90's to 2016!

Lace camisoles

Pair those lace camisoles with some high-waisted shorts!

Peep show bralettes

Let those bralettes show through with sheer tank tops! Or better yet, just wear a bralette underneath a jacket! This gives a more chic and edgy look and is perfect to wear to a concert or for a night out!

Slip into a slip-dress

Yay for wearing slips out as dresses! Pair one with some boots or heels and throw on a denim jacket! Nothing can beat denim and lace combined together!
Don't be shy and give that lingerie a try!!

No Model? No problem with Sariehodges

Sariehodges' Journey to Vinted

From a very young age, I have had a love for fashion. My sister introduced me to Vinted a few years ago and I was instantly hooked. I love thrifting to find items, taking photos and writing descriptions. I love to constantly update my photos to keep my closet looking fresh and organized.

Describe your style.

I would say I am very eclectic. I love taking ideas from every trend and making them work together. If I had to pick 3 words to describe my style they would be: feminine, edgy and unique.
I will miss the summer crop tops! They definitely dominate my closet at home. And I am looking forward to breaking out my boots! I always feel stylish and confident while wearing them.

Why do you love selling on Vinted?

I am extremely dedicated to my customers and keeping my closet consistent and current. From buying to selling, I enjoy every part of the Vinted process! It is easy to succeed at something you are passionate about.

You have some great flat lays - why do you think this makes a difference to your buyers?

I think being able to see an item in an outfit really helps buyers to visualize how they will be able to wear it.

What are some tips to creating killer flat lays?

I always focus on making each outfit and photo unique. It helps bring a diverse group of buyers to your closet as well as making your closet fun and pleasing to the eye.

Final thoughts on being successful?

If you can dedicate just a little time every day to spend on Vinted, it will dramatically impact your sales. Posting on ISO forums, updating photos, and consistently posting new items all help to bring attention to your closet.
Never give up! If you dedicate yourself, you will be successful!

Sharing is Caring with Thrifting_Diaries

Thrifting_Diaries' Journey to Vinted

Vinted not only allows me to share thrifted finds, but it allows me to downsize my closet. Vinted has also allowed me to connect with other wonderful sellers and buyers. The love is real!

As one of the Dallas Vinted Ambassadors, I've had the privilege of working with many smiling faces at Vinted.

Describe your style.

This is a tough one! During the day aka "adult life," I like to keep it casual with a splash of 60's vintage, think First Lady Jackie Kennedy. After work hours and during the weekend, you'll find me wearing vintage and romantic boho pieces.
I will miss wearing my Birkenstocks in summer. Oh wait, I can pair those with my free people socks! Fall is actually my favorite season - boots, cozy sweaters, hats, oversized everything - I can go on and on!

We love how you share your closet on Social Media. Does this make a difference in sales?

Putting yourself out there can help by attracting a new audience and help keep a regular audience in the loop.

What are some tips for sellers who want to use Social Media more effectively?

1. Not all your photos will be great but they will be yours.

2. Stop worrying about the number of likes and/or followers - those will come with time.

3. Be thankful to those who recognize your posts; a simple thank you can go a long way.

Final thoughts on being successful?

Be humble. Be tentative, helpful, and most importantly yourself. Sell as if you're selling to a good friend.
Remember to always answer questions promptly and don't ever doubt your sense of style - stay true.

Strike a Pose with Prothrifter

Prothrifter's Journey to Vinted

I try to sell brands that Vinties like. I sell at competitive prices. I accept offers. I engage with other Vinties via the forums and am always professional and polite. I have excellent pictures and descriptions, which gets me lots of closet raids. And I use hashtags to try to maximize visibility.

Describe your style.

Personally I wear a lot of designer, sort of in an edgy way if I had to choose one word. I also love love LOVE vintage! I actually prefer vintage and want to focus more on building up that part of my closet. But I sell a ton of designer because it's what I find a lot thrifting, and I can't pass it up!
I will miss the summer little sleeveless boho dresses, as well as jean cut-offs and crop tops. But I am DEFINITELY looking forward to oversized, slouchy sweaters and boots for the fall (which in New Orleans doesn't actually occur until like November lol.)

Why do you love selling on Vinted?

I love the social aspect with the forums. It actually is sometimes a distraction while I'm uploading, but one I love anyway. I have been so successful here it's hard not to love it! I feel like Vinted really invests and cares about its sellers/buyers. I also feel like Vinted listens and strives to be transparent with their members, even in the face of harsh and unwarranted criticism.

Why do you choose to model some of your items?

I especially like styling the vintage, I feel like you need to see it with accessories to really see how creative you can get with it. It's fun to create a story with one-of-a-kind vintage finds, and you need to accessorize to do that.

What are some tips for sellers who want to try out modeling their items?

If you are taking pics alone, get a big mirror and try to minimize any clutter in the background. If you have someone taking pics of you, then use natural sunlight, and figure out your best angles. I personally like to take some pics (not all but most), from about my lips down. I like to get my lips in because I use fun lipstick to add another accessory to the look. I also like to get my feet in to show off my shoes and complete the look.

Final thoughts on being successful?

Be persistent! Keep uploading and doing price drops even if it seems like sales are slow. I might not have an order for a week and then I get one almost every day the next!
Be positive and kind. Most importantly have fun! That's what this is all about!

A masterclass in styling with Kristilauren

Kristilauren's Journey to Vinted

I started off selling on Vinted as a way to make some pocket change so I can act and eat at the same time. My goal was to share articles of clothing that I was excited about. I love helping people feel beautiful and encouraging them to be adventurous with what they wear on a day-to-day basis. I never really thought I would gain as much momentum as I did! After a while people started approaching me, telling me what they were looking for, and I started becoming a personal stylist for people all over the US.

Describe your style.

Feminine and earthy... Think Brigitte Bardot meets Stevie Nicks
I'm going to miss the summer off the shoulder tops and dresses for sure. I can get away with them into October but have to retire them once it gets below 68 degrees (The LA equivalent to snowing). I'm counting down the days until I can break out my faux furs and Penny Lane coat and incorporating them with some of my favorite vintage Levi's and silk tops.

Why do you love selling on Vinted?

I'm forever fascinated by the internet. I can connect with people that I would have otherwise never had met and when people buy something from me we share a connection. I won't upload something that I don't like, and when someone purchases an item from me it's so rad to see that someone somewhere loves the same thing (or things) that I do! As an actor and writer it's important to surround myself with as many people from different walks of life as possible. Los Angeles is a very isolating city so being able to connect with different people and getting a peek into their personalities helps fuel my art every single day.
What sets you apart as a Top Seller?
I think what draws customers to me is my integrity. I'm a very big fan of online shopping, and nothing brings me more joy than coming home and seeing something that I've purchased sitting on my doorstep waiting to become a part of my story, and I want to give people the same rush of happiness when they buy from me. I refuse to sell items in sub par condition unless the piece is so special the minor flaws can be overlooked. I hand wrap every item with color coordinated tissue paper, sealed with a heart sticker. I hand write a letter to every customer thanking them for their business. If I can make one person smile I consider that day a success, and every time someone puts on that item they bought from me I hope they feel the love that goes into me hand selecting that special piece that they will wear for days, weeks, months, or maybe years to come.

We love the way you style your items. Why do you think this makes a huge difference for your buyers?

I think the key is to pair items with on trend items that are easily accessible. I'm quick to invest in accessories and jackets that will stay with me for years, but I'm not going to pair an item with a statement piece that only I own. Go with timeless closet staples (denim jackets, black boots) and you can't lose! A big bonus for me is when I can style a piece with something else that I'm selling. It shows off different ways your items can be styled, and you become a one stop shop!

What are some tips for sellers who are new to styling and want to try it out?

Take risks! Wear color! My closet used to be mostly black, but there's something so great about finding a color that makes you glow. I'm super into green right now because it brings out the green in my eyes. I've realized that people are more worried about how they look than how other people look. If you see something and it makes you happy, wear it! You're more likely to shine wearing something that brings you joy than wearing something that everyone else is wearing. Being like everyone else is boring anyway, right?

Final thoughts on being successful?

The best thing you can do is be honest. It's nice to make money, but cutting corners for a quick sale isn't the way to do it. Make Vinted fun! Grab your best friend and take photos in your awesome clothes together. Ask a family member to take photos of you and laugh about how silly it is. Enjoy your process. Tell your story. Do everything with joy and intention and the universe will always give back what you give.
If you ever have questions, feel free to reach out! I'm always here to lend a helping hand.

It's all about the details with Douxriens

Douxriens' Journey to Vinted

I started selling in November 2014. I had so many clothes in my closet that I needed to get rid of and the extra income would be helpful. I found Vinted searching online and after some research and downloading the app, I knew I would like this platform. I started off by taking photos of my clothes on hangers or lying flat on a clean carpet but soon I invested in a mannequin and thankfully my sales increased. I also started taking photos on a white and clear background with bright light. Interested buyers would ask me questions about my clothes/shoes, and I responded immediately. I noticed that the sooner I responded to questions, the faster I got a sale.

Describe your style.

I think I have a contemporary style. Chic and stylish. Affordable yet classy. :)
I love wearing dresses and sandals during the summer. I will definitely miss the bright fun colors, but at the same time, I love fall fashion. Earth-tone/ neutral colors are my favorite. I love boots and cardigans, as well as layering pieces together.

Why do you love selling on Vinted?

Vinted is a great community. The ambassador and staff do their very best to address issues and answer questions the best they can. Over the years, I have noticed that Vinted makes changes that enable it to be more user friendly and easy to use. The majority of these changes have been positive. I also love the idea that it has a community forum where Vinties can talk about their lives and seek advice on just about anything.
What sets you apart as a Top Seller?
When Vinties make a purchase, I thank them immediately and let them know when I will ship. I usually ship the same or next day and let the buyers know this. I strongly believe that communication is key in becoming a top seller. Let the buyer know when you will ship, or if there are any delays by USPS. I also expanded on my item descriptions. I included the type of fabric, if there are any flaws, width and length etc. I also started including a thank-you card in each package I sent out. Everyone loves kind gestures right? :) Packaging is also very important. Neat and sturdy packaging lets the buyer know that you care about their item reaching them in good condition and not just to make a quick buck. In doing so, I've had repeat buyers purchasing bundles from me.

Clear item descriptions is key - why do you think this makes a difference?

Buyers would like to know more details of what they are interested in. For example the type of fabric, if there are any flaws, if you are a smoker or non-smoker, if you have any pets (some Vinties are allergic to pet hair) the length or width of the items and so on. This enables them to decide faster if they are going to make the purchase or not instead of having to message the seller and wait a while to get a response.

What are three tips to writing better descriptions?

1. Be short and precise

2. Write well (good grammar never hurts!)
3. Include important information about the item (i.e. what would YOU want to know if you were the buyer?)

Final thoughts on being successful?

Always remember presentation! Good presentation of your items will mostly likely have your closet raided. If your closet is raided, you will have more exposure. Also, be patient, friendly and take time to communicate with fellow Vinties interested in your items.
And don't forget to have fun! :)
