Hi all. So I'm embarrassed to say this but I'm 24 years and don't have my drivers license. I've had 3 permits so far and got so sick of them expiring every year so I just got a state ID which doesn't expire for four years. Anybody else not have their license yet?
I don't have it because I never really needed it until now. I don't even really know how to drive. Sort of, but not that well. Also, driving scares me. Growing up, I never would have been able to take my parents car anywhere anyway because we never had an extra car lying around. My parents always took me to high school. When I started at my community college, I couldn't afford a car so I took the bus. I transferred to a local state school and go to school with my husband, who will drive us there. Now that I'm about to graduate, I have to get my license. What should I do? I feel like every time I practice driving, I just don't improve and it makes me feel stupid.
I'm 19 and I do have some learning experience but just haven't got around to perfecting my driving. I moved to California again last year and there's a shit ton of questions for the written test that I still have to study, I haven't taken it yet but I'm nervous.
I'm 23 and have never driven a car in my life. It's nothing to feel bad about and I don't really think 16 year olds should be allowed to drive anyway. I'd rather have adults learning to drive than children 🤷🏼♀️
I hate driving and I would rather not drive but no one allowed me to wait... right when I turned 16 my parents, bf, friends, siblings were annoyed if they had to drive me anywhere and I felt super guilty, I can't imagine pushing it much longer. So interesting to see this many people able to avoid it for so long!
I'm 19 and have had two permits expire on me haha. I haven't gotten a third and I don't think I will! At least not for a while. My husband does all the driving and that's perfectly fine with me! I'm going to just get a state ID as well >.< I can't help with the driving advice unfortunately as... ya know... I don't drive. But I wish you good luck!
Wow, all of these comments have made me feel so much better. I literally thought everyone would be saying "Why doesn't someone teach you to drive?" or something like that. Thank you all. I'm just really feeling the pressure on learning how to drive because I'll be graduating college in the spring and should probably learn how to drive to an interview or a new job! lol
My friend is 24 and has no interest in getting her license! It kinda makes me mad because she has two young children, and I worry like, what if something happens and her husband is not home to drive them to the hospital? If she had a fear of driving, I would understand, but she just acts like she doesn't need one.
You are definitely not alone! Have your husband take you around. I used to practice in cemeteries -there are usually no other cars or pedestrians
Girl, I just got my license this past summer and I'm 26! I made it work with bussing and I got super busy with school and jobs I had so I couldn't focus on driving a lot (plus once I moved out I didn't really have anyone to drive me). Everyone's experience and priorities are different. Driving is nice and having a license is nice, I'm not going to lie, but there's no time frame you need to do it in.
