Multi necked posy Vase with hand painted daffodils.. vintage..
A scarce Torquay Devon pottery multi-necked (udder) posy vase hand painted with a daffodil dating from the early part of the 1900s. The vase made in terracotta clay is of round bulbous shape standing on a flat narrow round base and with a narrow central trumpet shape opening with three smaller trumpet shape openings around it. The body of the vase is decorated in rich green and brown glazes and over painted in thick glazes with a solitary daffodil. The Torquay potteries who produced these in varying designs made them in two sizes. This is the larger of the two measuring 6”H x 5 1/4” in diameter. No chips, cracks or repairs, but does have mild crazing as seen in photos
