I grew up in a time where not only did my mom make my clothing but I can guarantee it outlasted anything Sears or Montgomery Wards sold. She taught me that when you buy you buy classic pieces that will last for years to come. Not trendy junk that will be in style one day and out the next and your lucky if it lasts. Did I listen to her? Of course not, I was a hard headed teen ager who thought she new better. Well still today I can look in my Mom's closet, she is 82 BTW and find pieces that not only have lasted since I was in High School but are in style now! I only started listening to her advise when I was bringing up my own kids. My boys, 24 & 20 both work and support themselves only buy better brands that will last. My daughter when we go thrifting will look for better brands that she will outgrow way before they ever wear out. My closet is a testament to that. Yes your going to find a piece or 2 that is trendy but you will find more investment pieces, pieces that you should have for years and years to come. Take my word for it, you want to invest in good solid pieces that never go out of style. Use jewelry to add a little zip to any outfit.
