The Television Studies Book
Christine Geraghty and David Lusted
Television Studies has come of age, with its own constituency of academics, practitioners and students, and its own recognised methods. It has a body of knowledge, as well as a history of how that knowledge developed, both open to a multitude of debates. Addressing those debates - the idea of 'flow', the role of popular culture, the issue of methodology - this book investigates the impact of the new discipline, charting the ways in which television has been analysed since its birth in the 1930s.
