• Folklore and Mythology: The narrative draws heavily from English folklore, Robin Hood legends, faerie myths, and Celtic mythic figures. 
• Belonging / Identity: Nick struggles with knowing who he is, especially after becoming aware of his connection to the Wild Folk. His life at the Abbey versus his connection to forest magic creates internal conflict. 
• Power and Sacrifice: Magic often comes with a cost. Releasing Elena’s power or entering the realm of Faery is not without danger. There’s tension between what one can do and what the risks are.
