How to take photos of branded items

We’ll ask you to show specific details in your photos when you list certain categories of items — such as designer goods, electronics, or cosmetics. This helps to confirm that your item is in line with our Catalog Rules.

If there isn’t enough information to show your item is genuine or safe, we may have to hide or remove the listing to keep our community safe.

Also, by creating a visually appealing and detailed listing, you’ll help other members decide on buying your item faster.

Important

We may have to hide or delete your listing if it’s brought to our attention and your pictures do not show your item’s authenticity. We may have to suspend or block your account if you repeatedly refuse to show proper pictures in your listing.

Taking proper photos of your items

Take clear, high-quality photos with good, natural lighting. Make sure any text is readable too.

Start by posting a photo of the entire item from the front.
Show the back of the item in the following photo.
Snap at least 3 close-up shots of certain details to showcase the item’s authenticity and compliance with our Catalog Rules.
Show the item’s labels, tags, QR codes, or bar codes.
Show the proof of purchase (like a receipt or invoice) whenever possible.
