Uploading an item step-by-step
Here’s how to upload an item on Vinted:
- Add 1–20 clear, sharp photos
- Add a title and describe your item in detail
- Select the appropriate category for the item you’re selling
- Insert a competitive price
- Select a suitable parcel size
In both the description and photos, you should note any defects, alterations, missing parts, etc. of the item.
Choosing the correct category
Choosing the correct category means:
- Your listing will be easier to find for potential buyers
- You’ll see relevant shipping options to send your item
- Buyers get more cost-effective shipping prices — which can lead to a faster sale
Choosing the wrong category means you might get the wrong shipping options and parcel sizes. Since parcel sizes can’t be changed after a purchase, this can result in extra shipping or pickup fees, or negative feedback from buyers.
Here are a few examples of uploading items to the correct category:
- A curling iron
Women > Beauty > Beauty tools > Hair styling tools
- Men's running shoes
Men > Shoes > Sports shoes > Running shoes
- A decorative cushion
Home > Textiles > Cushions
- Game consoles
Electronics > Video games & consoles > Consoles
- A large floor lamp
Home > Home accessories > Lighting > Floor lamps
NoteWhenever you upload an item, it might go through an automated check to make sure it follows our guidelines for selling. Normally, it takes up to 1 minute but, in some cases, can take up to 1 or 2 days. Our moderation team may have to hide or remove a listing if it doesn’t fit the right category or if the item isn’t allowed. Be sure to check what you can sell on Vinted for more details.
No duplicate items
Remember, the same items can’t be listed twice on Vinted. If you have a few items which are similar or the same, please consider the following:
- Create one listing and mention that you have 2 or more of the same items in the description;
- If you have the same items in different sizes, take photos of all the items' sizing labels;
- If you have the same items in similar colours, take photos from different angles and add the colour to the description. Please take good quality photos in which the item’s colour is easily separable.
More tips about uploading items
- For items that require an age-rating label (like video games), make sure that the photo displays such labelling.
- You can choose up to three item materials in the upload form. If there are more, write them in the listing description. Check the item's care label for more information.
- If the item comes with manuals, safety warnings or usage instructions, add them to the parcel.
- Consider uploading photos of warnings found in the item’s instructions (e.g. age warnings, weight limit, maintenance).
- If possible, add photos of the CE mark for toys, personal protective equipment, electronics, or similar to prove EU compliance. Look for it on the item, the item’s manual, or its original packaging.
