Why your listing was hidden or removed
Our Catalog Rules help make Vinted a safe and fair place to buy and sell. If a listing goes against these rules, we’ll have to hide or remove it.
We’ll have to hide your listing if:
- The item is not in accordance with our Catalog Rules
- You haven’t provided the necessary authenticity proof for your item
- You haven’t provided proof that your item isn’t made from real fur
- The item's price, condition, size, or hashtags are inaccurate, unclear, or intentionally misleading. For example:
- The listing description doesn’t match the item
- Multiple (and unrelated) brands are mentioned in a single listing
- The listing was uploaded for the purpose of bidding
- Unrelated or excessive hashtags are used
- The item isn’t available or has already been sold
- The listing description promotes another marketplace
- The listing is in the wrong catalog category
- The listing photos are not good quality
- The listing contains several items, but you only sell one of them or sell all of them separately
Once you add the required photos or update the listing as needed, your hidden listing will become visible again.
We have to remove a listing if it goes against our Catalog Rules or if the item is prohibited by any applicable law, rule, or regulation. For example:
- The item is counterfeit
- The pictures are taken from another website, including stock photos
- The pictures contain elements of nudity or provocative posing and gestures
- The item violates copyright or any other intellectual property (IP) rights
- The item lacks a necessary age-rating label
- The item contains an animal product such as fur, reptile skin, shell, or ivory (however, leather and various types of animal fiber – such as sheep's or lambswool, merino, cashmere, alpaca, and mohair – are permitted)
- The item is a live pet or plant
- The item is a consumable, such as food or drink
- The item is uploaded for commercial resale purposes
- The item is a request or an offer for an item, rather than an actual item
- The item has been listed multiple times and is a duplicate
- The item is a cosmetic product, perfume, cosmetic accessory, or beauty tool that has been used or is not in its original packaging (this restriction applies to makeup, cream, lotion, perfumes, hair-care products, brushes, sponges, and any other beauty tools)
- The item is a cosmetic, medicinal, or electronic grooming product intended for use on animals
- The item is underwear bottoms, without explicitly displayed tags and/or original packaging, or handmade (therefore considered used)
- The item is sexually provocative, such as fetish gear or content promoting sex services (e.g., videos, photos, or other sexually explicit content)
- The item is a jailbroken or rooted device modified to bypass the manufacturer’s security restrictions
- The item falls under the prohibited items, such as certain electronics, entertainment, home, or equipment items specified in our Catalog Rules.
- The item is a recalled product (which was recalled for safety reasons or other non-compliance issues by the manufacturers or public authorities in the USA) — get more information about products recalled in the USA
Please be aware that this list is not exhaustive, and these examples are intended only as a guide. For more information, refer to our Catalog Rules.
Prohibited items and refunds
We cannot refund the cost of a Bump or Closet Spotlight if they include prohibited items that we’ve had to hide or remove. Please note that refunds are also not possible if your account gets banned.
Selling identical items
The same items can’t be listed twice on Vinted. If you have a few items which are similar or the same, please consider doing the following:
- Create one listing and mention that you have 2 or more of the same items in the description
- If you have the same items in different sizes, take photos of all items' label sizes
- If you have the same items in similar colors, use photos from different angles and write the colors in the description. Please take good quality photos where the color of each item is distinct and easily separable.
If you believe there’s been a misunderstanding about a listing we’ve had to hide or remove, you can appeal our moderation decision.
Check the Vinted inbox message with our official moderation decision for the link to make an appeal. In your appeal, please explain why you believe the moderation decision was incorrect and provide any supporting evidence you can. This will help us evaluate your case.
You can make an appeal within 6 months of receiving the moderation decision notice, and a decision can only be appealed once.
Members and non-member reporters can also appeal our moderation decision by bringing an action before national courts in accordance with local applicable laws.
You can report a member if they’re selling a prohibited item or their listing goes against our rules — it really helps improve others’ experience on Vinted. Once we review your report, we’ll inform you about what action we’ve decided to take.
- We'll always notify you why we’ve removed or hidden your listing.
- You can always make the necessary corrections to republish a hidden listing.
- We’ll have no choice but to ban your account temporarily or permanently if you repeatedly violate our Catalog Rules.
